The couple headed west, out of California and into Arizona. The girl drove most of the way and kept watching the fuel gage praying they would get to their destination before running out of gas. They were headed to Kingman, AZ to a Petro truck stop. The guest was convinced the couple could get a ride on a truck from here going towards Florida.
When the couple got to the Petro it was very late at night or early in the morning. They slept in the SUV until it was late enough in the day that they would not be noticed. The first thing that the girl noticed was that it was much colder in Arizona than it had been in California and she started to realize how scary it was that she had not packed any winter clothes at all. When the couple left Utah it was very warm for September and she had packed summer clothes and the only shoes she had with her were sandals.
When the couple got up the girl went to sit in the movie room and the guest went to the driver’s door to see if he could find them a ride out of there.
The girl sat in the movie room all day watching different movies and completely freezing. She tried to eat a ramen about halfway through the day and by this time she had eaten so much ramen that it just made her very sick. Hunger was more comfortable than eating ramen.
Most of the day had gone by when the guest came to get her to talk to her. He got mad at her for not helping them get a ride or get help. The girl felt completely hopeless. She had no idea how she was supposed to approach people or help get them a ride. She was very upset and starting to get depressed.
When night came, the couple again slept in the SUV. They had been gone from Utah for about 2 weeks at this point. The girl was starting to get very stressed and definitely hopeless.
The next day they went back to the same routine. The girl spent time in the movie room and the guest spent time trying to get them a ride out of there.
At some point the girl called the best friend to tell him that they were okay but still not home. The best friend told her that her KD friend was very stressed and upset about her. He said that he had told KD what had happened and she insisted they go to the police about it. The girl told the guest what had happened. This upset the guest and he insisted she call KD and tell her that the girl was fine and that there was not cause to worry.
The girl called KD to tell her that she was fine. She could hear the worry and concern in her voice. KD told her that she had gone to the cops but that they would just do a wellness check on her if they found her since she had left the state of her own choice. She told her how worried she was and that she loved her. She told her to stay in touch with her.
The guest was definitely stressed at this point and was afraid that the cops were going to find them. He insisted they find a way to leave where they were. The only thing the couple really had left was the girl’s camera. The girl had been hiding her camera hoping the guest would forget about it. It was the only thing she had left of her life and she had felt for years that her camera was an extension of herself. She saved and saw the world through her camera lens. The guest finally convinced the girl that the only choice they had left was to try to sell her camera.
Almost crying the girl took her disc out of the camera. She had an extra one that she replaced it with and put what she had left in the camera case which she didn’t want to part with. She had the camera and the USB cable to download the pics with still in her luggage. She put these things together and did what she could to release herself from what she felt was her most prized possession.
They talked to several people who did not want the camera and then finally when the girl was ready to give up, a driver decided he would give them money for it. They bought some cheap food, filled up the gas tank and continued on to Flagstaff, AZ.

Chapter 2...Part 6
The model never showed up. The girl didn’t know if she had just left them there to be stranded or if something had happened. The guest was concerned that she had car trouble or something.
The couple ended up stuck at the Flying J for 5 days. The days blurred together and the girl was so scared. They didn’t have money for anything including food. They were lucky at points when someone gave them food or someone would leave something behind and they were able to eat. The girl had saved a cup and could keep drinking ice water so that helped.
The couple spent their days trying to figure out what to do about their situation. The girl ended up reading a book a friend had loaned to her about a year before that was sitting in the RV and she also watched her first Nascar race from the beginning to the end. This was the Talledega race which is usually one of the more exciting races. She saw lots of crashes.
The guest kept insisting to the girl that they were not that far from their destination. The girl finally gave in and begged her mother to send her money. She was getting desperate and worried. The couple had now been gone from her home for almost 2 weeks and she was afraid of not being able to get things accomplished and get home.
Her mother figured out a way to wire her money. She picked up the money and was so excited to get to their destination. The couple had a good breakfast and got ready to head out. Then the guest recounted the money they had and told the girl that they still didn’t have the money to get to their destination. How was that possible? Somewhere they should have been days before and the fact that the money they had originally started out with should have been enough to get them to their destination.
The girl could never explain why she couldn’t just leave the guest at this point except that she was afraid of being alone and she didn’t realize how easy it would have been for her to get home. Later on she found out that she was right off of I-15 and could have just driven north from where they were and gotten home with enough money. Not the whole way with the money they had but she could have headed that way.
That evening she was exhausted and frustrated. The one bright spot in that day was that she had met a hitch hiker that was pagan. They had a good conversation and she thought about how many times so far she had run into pagans. It seemed that they were just attracted to one another again.
The guest pulled her aside and told her his brilliant idea. He had decided it would be best to try to make their way east toward Florida. He said he was sure he could get drivers to help us out and figure things out. They took the money they had left, put it in the gas tank and headed east.

Chapter 2...Part 5
The couple drove down the mountain and the girl saw Magic Mountain for the first time. They stopped in Valencia for a break and ended up talking with the best friend once again. The best friend once again yelled at the girl to come home and told the guest that he was being selfish and needed to send the girl home and then when he got things figured out he could send for her or return to Utah for her. The best friend told them both that he knew her friends would get things together to get the girl home. The couple told him to see what he could find out and they would make their plans from there.
The couple spent the next several hours sitting in the McDonald’s restaurant of Wal-Mart waiting for the phone to ring. Finally the couple called the best friend back to see what the status was. He told the girl that he had tried calling all the friends he could think of and no one could or would help her out. There was one friend that was willing to buy her a bus ticket but that was it.
This brought up the question of what would happen to her SUV and her belongings if she did this. The couple argued over this for a while and he texted his brother and the model. Of course he texted them that the girl was going to leave him so they both said bad things about her and both told him that if he came to them without her they would help him but if he chose to stay with her then they wouldn’t help.
With this information in mind the couple turned around and headed north. There was no longer a reason to head to LA if the girl was going to stay with the guest because the model would not help them out. They reached the town of Castaic, CA and stopped at the Pilot truck stop. The girl talked to another friend who agreed to send them money. She said that she just needed it back as soon as they got to the house because this money had been set aside for a specific purpose.
The couple headed back over the Grapevine and stopped at Frazier Park again to sleep for the night. The next morning the guest was talking with an older man who was hitchhiking and trying to go the same way that the couple was going and agreed to give him a ride. They drove back toward the Petro truck stop and stopped for a while so it wouldn’t be such a hot drive across the desert. They watched a movie then decided it was time to drive.
The couple headed toward Bakersfield, dropping the older man off before they headed across the Mojave Desert.
The mountains the desert are on are ugly in spots and beautiful in others. The girl took some more pictures on their drive and was able to see the airplane graveyard, made famous in the movie “ConAir”, and Andrews Air Force Base.
The couple finally made it across the desert and to Barstow, CA. Anyone who knows the girl would know that at this point she couldn’t get the Depeche Mode version of “Route 66” out of her head. Once they were in Barstow they stopped at the TA truck stop for a while then moved over to the Flying J after they ended up in a yelling match with the best friend because he threatened to call the cops and tell them the guest had kidnapped the girl. They were afraid they had attracted too much attention and that the cops would show up and they would be in trouble. The couple spent that night in the SUV in the Flying J parking lot.
The couple still had some money. The guest was talking with the model who told him that if they stayed for the night in Barstow that she would come meet them the next day because she was going to be done with her photo shoot that evening.
With the little bit of money the couple had left they got a room for the night. They had a little bit left for dinner from the grocery store. They had a relaxing night. The girl was concerned that the model would not show up the next day but the guest swore that she would be there and all would be well. He said that the house was not that far from where they were and they would be able to get there as soon as the model got there the next day.
The next morning the girl was devastated. The cell phone quit working. It had power but the service had been discontinued. How would the model know where to find them? The guest told her not to worry because he had told the model to meet them at the Flying J so it was all going to work out.

Chapter 2...Part 4
The couple drove south toward Los Angeles. They got as far as the Petro truck stop near Frazier Park, CA. They were almost out of gas at this point and had a couple of dollars to their names.
While they were there they talked on the phone to the best friend who started to make threats. He said that if the girl didn’t return as soon as possible that he was going to call the cops on them and have them brought back no matter what. The best friend and the guest argued over this for a long time and the best friend also tried to tell the girl that she needed to get home. This was easier as it sounded since they were now stuck in the middle of California with no money and no way to get home.
The girl ended up talking with another friend of hers. This was the same friend that had originally loaned them the money. She got the amount from the guest that it would take to get to the house and the friend told her that she would get it to her but she wanted a promise that a money order would be in the mail as soon as they got to the guest’s house. The girl had no problem with this and again, thought that this was the last time she would have to do this.
It was quite late in the evening before the money was transferred so the couple drove to the parking lot of the Flying J at Frazier Park and spent the night there where the guest swore they would be less likely to be noticed sleeping in a vehicle.
The next morning the guest gave the girl the choice. He said he had talked to the model who wanted them to drive to LA and she would help them out. Or, they could go ahead and go to the house but it was across the Mojave Desert. He said it would be better to go meet with her and get help and then they would all head to the house.
They headed further south and drove over the Grapevine. This is a place in California that it really high and a lot of vehicles end up overheating. It is very well known for that. The girl took some beautiful pictures at the crest of the mountain where she was surprised to see a body of water.

Chapter 2...Part 3
When they got to Visalia the guest said they should go and see his brother. They went to the house and indeed met his brother and his girlfriend. The guest told the girl that she was not to bring up what had been going on but that they were to tell his brother that they were down in that area to see a heart specialist.
They went out to lunch with his brother and girlfriend and ended up spending their last $20.00. The guest told the girl that he had picked up his credit card at his brother’s house and they would have money on Monday. It was Saturday then and they had to figure out what to do. The girl started to be confused because she thought the end goal was to get to Visalia. The guest told her that no, his brother and father live in Visalia but that he lived across the desert in Mammoth Lakes. Why was this never mentioned before? The guest insisted that he had told this to the girl and the girl decided to stop fighting about it and try to figure a way out of the situation.
Again she called a friend of hers. He ended up sending them money and this gave them a place to sleep for the next couple of nights with enough money that they could get some staples to eat with. The girl was getting good at finding good finds at the discount grocery store.
The weekend passed without chaos and they saw his brother again. His brother gave the guest a couple of boxes of things that had been his so they now had some extra clothes and a few other odds and ends. The couple spent the weekend in fairly nice comfort and the girl took some pictures and just enjoyed being off of the road and out in the beautiful fall California air.
When Monday came the girl was excited to get things taken care of. Finally this would be the day that they would get things done and would make it to the guest’s house. Oh, how wrong she was. The guest called on the card he had gotten from his brother’s house, there was no money on it. The guest swore there should be $600.00 on the card and that someone must have hacked into it and stolen it. Now they would be without any money and no roof over their heads.
They had some money left from the girls’ friend helping them out and the guest said that they should go ahead and go towards their goal. He had contacted a model friend of his who said that if they could get neared to L.A. where she was at a photo shoot and she would help the couple.
So back on the road the couple went.

Chapter 2...Part 2
The girl had never been to a truck stop before except to get gas or snacks and didn’t understand what she was getting into. Before they even got to the Petro the guest told her do’s and don’ts about spending time at the truck stop. He told her that they would park close, but not in the parking lot of the truck stop. He told her that they needed to go inside the doors and directly up the stairs without letting anyone notice them. Once they were upstairs, the guest told the girl that she need to put things like their small cooler under the table so it wasn’t noticeable. He told her that if anyone asked why they were there she was to tell them they were waiting for a load and that they had a flat bed truck.
The couple waited all day to hear from the caretaker. Finally that evening the caretaker (friend) texted the guest and told him that he would be there at around 3am the next morning. He was supposed to head their way after he got off of work and drive. The girl was really scared and not really sure what they were going to do. They had spent all day at the truck stop playing on the laptop and watching movies (truck stops tend to have TV/movie rooms) and trying not to freak out.
Late evening came and the only choice the couple had was to sleep in the SUV. They took out all their clothes and put them on the bed of the SUV and attempted to sleep. The girl watched her mini DVD player for a while trying to sleep. It was very hard, she was really stressed and it was getting cold.
Around 3am the girl was awake and started counting time. Finally the guest woke up and he said they needed to get something to eat and he would text the caretaker and see what was up.
The couple had been eating variations of ramen by this time. They didn’t have much else left. Some canned fruit and veggies and that was it. The girl found out that ramen isn’t half bad if mayonnaise is added to it.
The guest texted the caretaker who said that he found out he needed to work and would not be able to come get them until Friday. That was 2 days away! The girl was really stressed by this time. At least she had the laptop and she was going to be able to finish her online class for school. She was also stressed because she was supposed to be back to school the next week to start a new term. What was supposed to be about a one week trip, including going to Florida was already taking longer than expected. It had only been a few days but this was dragging out.
The next couple of days were spent in stress and making what meager supplies they had left last. They spent their days in the truck stop and their nights trying to sleep in the SUV.
Finally Friday came. Yeah. It was the last day that they were going to have to spend time in a truck stop and sleep in a car. Phew! That was an experience the girl never wanted to repeat.
The guest texted the caretaker and asked him if he had left. He said that yes, he had left and was on his way. Several hours later the guest tried texting him again and didn’t get a response. He then texted the caretaker’s wife who told him that the caretaker’s truck had broken down in Lake Tahoe. He wanted the guest to drive to Tahoe and help him out. Now it seemed all hope was lost.
The girl looked at the things that she had brought with them and decided it was worth attempting to pawn her portable DVD player. Surely this would get them enough gas money to get to where they were going.
That morning the girl had submitted her final for school and was free of that for the next three days and she was willing to see what could be done. The couple also met a traveler who had a little bit of money and was willing to help them out if they could get him into California.
The three of them drove off looking for a pawn shop. They found one and the girl took in her portable DVD player. She found out they would be willing to give her $20.00 for this. $20.00 would barely pay for food. She thought long and hard and finally asked them how much they would give her for her laptop. They told her they would give her $100.00 if it all checked out.
The girl went back to the SUV and told the guest what could be worked out. He agreed it was a good idea and they left the store with $120.00. Surely this would be enough to get them to Visalia and to the house. She made the guest promise her that they would be back for the laptop and even left the case and paperwork in the case there hoping they would know she would be back for it.
The three of them stopped and had a good breakfast then headed west towards Lake Tahoe. The traveler slept most of the way. When they came to Lake Tahoe the girl asked the guest if they should stop and try to find the caretaker. The guest told her that it would be better if they just drove on, got to the house, got the Dooley pickup and went back to get him. The girl thought that was an odd idea when they could take the caretaker with him but felt he knew what the best decision was.
Before they got to Sacramento, they left the traveler off at a truck stop and started looking for a room for the night. They drove down past Sacramento and stopped for the night at the Motel 6. The guest told her that it wasn’t that far to Visalia and they could stay for the night but then be able to go on the next day and be able to make it there.
They stayed for the night and it was early the next morning that the guest told her that they didn’t have enough gas money to get to Visalia. Now the girl had given up everything she had with her except her camera which was very precious to her and she really didn’t want to lose. She called a couple of friends. At this point she was still under the impression that they didn’t need that much money to get where they were going. She got a hold of a friend who sent her money which, according to the guest, should more than get them to the house. They picked up the money and headed to Visalia.

Chapter 2...Part 1
Chapter 2: The Journey starts…
The couple started out going west and stopped for a cheap breakfast and to take money out of the girl’s account. The drive was nice and the girl enjoyed just looking at the scenery. It had been years since she had driven this highway and it was very relaxing.
During the drive the girl saw several crows and believed she was on the correct path as this is one of her spirit animals. The only thing that was bothering her was that the guest had decided it was okay to smoke in her car. She thought back to the hours sitting on the porch getting to know the guest. He had always been so respectful of her with his smoking. He had always brushed his teeth and washed his face when he knew she was coming over. The girl is a non-smoker and allergic to cigarette smoke.
When they started out on the drive her told her that he had to be able to smoke in the car otherwise they would have to stop a lot and would make very poor time. The girl had never let people smoke in her car and was not happy about this but decided to keep the peace and allow him to smoke. This was a decision she was starting to regret since every time he smoked the smoke seemed to gravitate toward her and she was coughing and wheezing. The guest told her she was being a baby about it and to deal with it, it couldn’t be that bad.
A few hours into the drive, the guest lowered the first blow. He said that they were going to stop for the night because after driving through the canyon, his heart was hurting and he didn’t think his heart could deal with driving through another canyon. They were near Reno, Nevada at this point. The girl didn’t think this was a good idea and mentioned that to him. How were they going to make it all the way to central California if they stopped now? The guest kept insisting on it and finally the girl gave in.
The couple stopped in Sparks, Nevada for the night and stayed at the Western Village. The nightly rate isn’t too horrible and she had to admit that it was nice and comfortable. The only thing she was unhappy with was that the guest kept insisting they eat out instead of just going to the store and buying things. She had also stopped by her place before they left and had gotten a lot of stuff that could be transported easily.
They had a relaxing evening and the girl even met another pagan. She was on her way to do laundry and asked someone where the laundry room was. This girl ended up being pagan and they had a great talk. No matter where she went, the girl seemed to find someone of the alternative spirituality belief system.
The next morning the girl expected that they would head to California. After reviewing the money situation, the guest determined that there was no way that they could make it to central California on the money that they had available. He said that he would contact a friend of his that watched his house and ask him to either send them money or to come get them.
The guest said he got a hold of his friend and he could not come get them until the next day. He said to go ahead and get a room for the night and he would be there to get them as soon as he got off of work the next day.
The couple ended up staying in a Motel 6 in Sparks. The Western Village requires a $50.00 deposit and since the couple was low on money this was not something they could afford. They reviewed what was left of their money and the girl went to the store and spent what they had left to buy them groceries so they could eat for the evening.
The girl was getting more and more nervous at this point. She was 500 miles away from home and all that she knew. She was really scared but anytime she mentioned this to the guest he got so upset with her that she stopped mentioning it. She enjoyed buying groceries and being away from the guest for a little while. She also spent some time in the pool trying to relax and watching a video as she had brought her portable DVD player with her when she left the state.
The next morning came and the girl asked the guest where they were supposed to meet his friend. By this time he tried to call his friend and he was out of minutes on his plan. He could text but could not call except during non-peak hours. He told the girl that they could go to the Petro (a truck stop) and just wait while he got a hold of his friend.

Chapter 1...Part 4
The next morning the couple was faced with a dilemma. Attempt to continue on the journey they had discussed or find another course of action. Voldemort was homeless with no where to go and they could not go back to Alyce's home. They finally decided to stay another night while they chose their next course of action.
That day Alyce talked with a few friends. One of them was just concerned because she had talked with Shawn and had heard information she felt was disturbing. Shawn was incredibly nervous about all that happened and didn’t want Alyce to leave. He was concerned for her safety and was starting to feel very nervous about Voldemort even though they had been good friends. The other friend was the financial friend and who didn’t know what was going on but just wanted to know the girl was okay.
This was when the jealousy seemed to start with Voldemort. He had shown some signs of jealousy before but it had seemed mild. He had been off working so much of the time that he didn’t notice much of what was going on with Alyce, with her friendships, and other stuff going on including school. Now they were alone together and had been for over 24 hours. He seemed to be upset over her having phone calls from concerned friends. Alyce felt this was circumstantial and didn’t get too upset over it.
Alyce spent those days trying to relax and find alternative ideas about what to do. One of the suggestions Voldemort had made was that he had a house in California. He said that if they got to the house in California then they could get money there, fly to Florida, get money straightened out with ML, then return home and take care of everyone and all the bills. This seemed reasonable if they could get figure out a way to get money.
Since Alyce had her laptop with them and a wireless connection, she researched loans online and attempted to secure a loan. Monday morning she received confirmation that she had gotten a loan and that the funds were deposited into her bank account. This seemed like good news at the time and it was decided that the couple would head to California to take care of things.
Early Monday morning while they were packing up, Voldemort had a heart problem. Alyce had already experienced some of his heart problems and even though she was used to them, she was very concerned. Voldemort said it was so bad that they might need to go to the hospital. She was very worried and concerned. What if something happened to him? What then?
Eventually the heart problem subsided and he said he would be fine to travel. This surprised Alyce but she figured if he said he was safe to travel, he must be.

Chapter 1...Part 3
When the issue of the Merrill Lynch/Bank of America merger came up, Alyce decided she needed to do more research into what was happening. Was this even legitimate? She called a friend of hers who was big in the financial world. He said that yes, ML and BofA were merging and that no one had known this was happening. He said that all assets could be frozen for up to 4 weeks while the merger was taking place.
Four weeks was a long time for all those people waiting on paychecks. Bills needed to be paid for the company as well as personally for the employees. Emotions were starting to run high and stress was very much a factor.
Things all came to a head when Voldemort was asked to leave the house where he was staying. Now he was literally homeless. Voldemort, Alyce, and Shawn ended up discussing everything at length. Where to go from there? How to get money? The conclusion that Voldemort had come to was that he needed to get to Florida where his accounts had originally come from and where he could straighten things out.
The only way to even start to accomplish this was to try to get money. Everyone involved in the business was out of funds. They had all spent their money taking care of themselves or paying bills and helping out Voldemort. Alyce thought long and hard and asked how much money it would take. Alyce had barely been out of her own state before, let alone 2,000 miles from home. Voldemort told her that it would cost about $300.00. This didn’t sound incredibly unreasonable and if a $300.00 contribution would help them get money to pay employees and take care of things she would do her best to get that.
Alyce e-mailed a friend of hers and loosely described the situation. She figured that she would get the money back to her friend in about a week so that would not be an issue. Her friend agreed to loan her the money to take care of what she needed to take care of.
Originally when the trip was discussed, Shawn was willing to go on this trip also and use his car. After the money was secured, he had changed his mind and decided not to go and not to let his car leave the state. This meant that the plans would have to be to use Alyce’s SUV which used a lot more gas. Voldemort and Alyce recalculated how much money it would take to get to Florida and realized that they would not be able to make it on the money they had borrowed.
In the meantime, a lot of the models had gotten together and decided they were unhappy with not being paid and they also discussed this with their respective boyfriends. The boyfriends decided they needed to do something about the situation. When Voldemort ended up totally homeless one of the models contacted him and told him that she would put him up in a hotel for the night and that she had the key, he just needed to come get it. Alyce thought it would be a good idea for them to spend a relaxing evening together and finalize plans the next day.
When the couple went to pick up the room key things looked suspicious. Voldemort came back to the vehicle and seemed very agitated. He got into the SUV and drove toward the exit of the apartment complex. As they neared the exit they could see several males walking quickly towards the SUV and it looked like they had baseball bats or something similar in their hands. Voldemort drove faster and almost hit one to avoid them. The couple drove out of the complex and quickly entered onto the freeway. Alyce looked back and she could see several SUVs following them.
The vehicle was almost out of gas and there weren’t many options. Voldemort called one of the models to find out what was going on. She said that her boyfriend was mad that she hadn’t been paid and that she and another model were on their way.
The couple got off the freeway and were followed. Once they got near the city they saw a police car and made a u-turn on a bridge to get the attention of the cop. They were pulled over. When the cop asked what was going on the couple gave them a brief explanation. He took Voldemort's driver’s license and told them to stay there. He walked back and all the vehicles following had pulled over behind the cop.
The cop came back and told Voldemort that all the boyfriends wanted were the files with the models’ personal information. They had the work files with them and told the cop he could have all of them. They gave him the file box and drove away.
Now the couple was even more unsure what to do. Alyce made a few calls and secured them a place to stay for the night. However, Voldemort didn’t want to go stay with a friend of hers and after they picked up the loaned money, he convinced her the best course of action was to get a room for the night and decide what to do in the morning. Alyce was overcome with all that had happened that day and finally agreed.

Chapter 1...Part 2
The next morning was much better. Everyone was in better spirits by this time and decided to continue on the road trip they had started together.
The drive was a lot of fun, even when driving in heavy traffic in California. They eventually reached the coast line and got to stop at the beach. This was Kiley’s first time at the beach and they all had fun playing in the water and sand.
After a fun but exhausting time at the beach they all piled back in the car in search of a place to stay for the night. They drove up pacific coast highway 1. They saw cars, water, Malibu, and so much. It was so much fun for them all and no one worried about money or had any drama.
They pulled off PCH1 into the city of Oxnard for the night. After negotiating on the motel and the money they finally stopped at a Best Western and enjoyed company and pizza for the night.
The next morning it was decided to head on up PCH1 and it was agreed that they were driving to Visalia where Voldemort was reported to have a house and money that he was going to pay Kiley back with.
They all spent the day driving up PCH1 and into the evening, they stopped at a couple of beaches along the way. They saw surfers and the sun set. It was a wonderful day and they were all happy with what was going on.
Late into the evening and early into the night it was discovered that there was not any money. Voldemort seemed to be out. Kiley was completely tapped of all of her funds also. A lot of questioning ensued but the outcome was the same no matter what, how to get home?
There was no money left to stay for the night leaving the only choice to continue driving until home was reached. During the night drive they were all supposed to stop in Visalia at Voldemort’s house. Voldemort called his caretaker, Tim, who told him that he couldn’t find the keys to the house. Voldemort decided it was not worth it to risk breaking into his own house and kept driving. By the time everyone woke up they were into Nevada and driving over the pass toward Reno and it was early morning.
That was the day they all returned from the road trip. They were safe and sound but then discovered Voldemort and Shawn were now homeless. They had a disagreement with their landlord and were told not to come home. This left Alyce with the only choice she thought she had to make, she let them stay with her. At the time she thought this would be for a day or two until Voldemort secured the money to get him and Shawn a place to stay.
The first week of working for Voldemort was something that Alyce had never experienced before. Voldemort had told her he wanted a relationship with her but she rarely saw him, either at work or away from work. She spent her days with Shawn and the other people working in the office. She enjoyed her job but she was living with 2 men and situations were becoming difficult both at home and at work.
The few days of the boys staying with Alyce turned into more than a week. The 2 friends were there constantly and Voldemort was always ‘working’. He was on the phone a lot and outside smoking. Eventually Alyce’s landlords asked her to move out of the house because of these issues.
Alyce was devastated. She loved that home and was very sad to have to leave. Voldemort told her it would all be fine. He said his accounts would be taken care of soon and he would get them a place to live. He had already started to buy a house and it was for the two of them. He said it would all work out.
At this point Alyce had been working for Voldemort for two weeks. She should have gotten a pay check. No one had gotten paid at this point. He kept saying the money was coming. By this time Voldemort had about 30 people working for him in the guise of secretaries, models, security, photographer, and limo drivers.
Voldemort told everyone that money was being complicated by the fact that his accounts were with Merrill Lynch and they were in the middle of a merger/buyout with Bank of America.
When Alyce’s landlords asked her to move out, one of the provisions for her staying in the house temporarily was that Voldemort was no longer welcome and could not come around the house. When this happened Voldemort needed to find another place to stay. He ended up staying with the other secretary and her security husband.

Chapter 1...Part 1
Chapter 1: the meeting
Once upon a time Alyce went over to see her friend, Shawn. When she walked into the house a house guest, Voldemort, saw her and thought she was the most beautiful girl in the land. Alyce didn’t even realize Voldemort was there and went about her business.
One day Shawn called her and told her that Voldemort thought she was beautiful and wanted to meet her. Alyce wasn’t sure she wanted to meet Voldemort but decided it couldn’t hurt. Alyce met Voldemort and decided it wasn’t a bad idea to see where things might go. She agreed to go out on a date with him.
Meanwhile Alyce was leading a good life. She was going to school to be a medical assistant and was working her regular desk/office job. She spent time with friends and with her cat, Banshee. She enjoyed hiking and was learning magickal lessons from Shawn. Her life was fulfilled and she wasn’t looking for a relationship.
Voldemort was starting a business with friends of hers and this is how he came to be in the house where he originally saw Alyce. This business he was starting was an American LeMans racing team. He told everyone he had done this before and wanted to start it up again to help out both him and his friends.
The first time Alyce spent much time with Voldemort was a work day for them. She had the day off from school and the work team was going to Tooele and Salt Lake City to check out race tracks. Voldemort invited Alyce to go with them. She was very excited. She would get to know Voldemort more as well as find out more about car racing, something she had never had an interest in.
Alyce met them all at the house and they all got into a limo to head south. This was her first time in a limo and she was very excited. It was very luxurious and a totally different experience for her. Two of her friends were on the work team and she got to know the rest of the team better.
The work team spent the rest of the day looking at race track venues and discussing the upcoming media event the guest wanted to schedule to get the race team off the ground and involve citizens of Utah.
About a week after this outing Voldemort told Alyce that he needed more office help. He needed a personal assistant for him and a secretary for the company and asked if she knew anyone that would qualify for these positions. Alyce didn’t know anyone beyond herself that fit the description and told him this. At this point Voldemort told her that he would like it if she joined the work team as his personal assistant if she didn’t think it would interfere with the personal relationship they were already establishing. If she agreed then this would work out for both of them. He would have a personal assistant to travel and work with him and they could also work side by side as a couple, travel and be together.
Alyce thought about the offer for several days. She believed in things like tarot cards and meditation. She pulled a few oracle cards and was very intent and purposeful on the questions she asked of the universe. After these days, she gave Voldemort her answer of, "yes." She took a leave of absence from her job of 14 years and got ready to work for him.
The day after her last day of work everyone working for the race team was supposed to go to Detroit for the American LeMans race. Alyce had invited her friend, Kiley, to join them and they were all to leave the next morning.
Morning came and there was a delay with the airplane. They were then supposed to leave that afternoon. Voldemort called a meeting between him, Alyce, Kiley, and Shawn. He explained that there were problems with the Detroit trip and asked if the 3 of them would all like to take a road trip instead. He said how much money he had and asked how much Alyce could contribute.
The 4 all agreed this was a good idea and they all set out to making plans to leave on a road trip. It was decided that they would all go to Primm, California for some gambling and relaxation.
All involved had already packed and were ready to go so they got in Shawn’s car and headed south toward the Utah/Nevada border. They had a good time driving, riding and conversing on the drive. They stopped in St. George for a later dinner at IHOP and stopped in Mesquite for the night. All gambled a bit, relaxed and enjoyed the evening before getting a good night’s sleep.
The next morning they all got up and drove to Las Vegas for a banquet breakfast at Circus Circus then on to Primm to stay at Terrible’s. They all got a room for the night. Alyce had a panic moment when it was discovered that she had lost Voldemort’s cell phone case with his cell phone and identification inside. Shawn spent time trying to calm Voldemort down while Alyce and Kiley went in search of the missing items. The missing items were finally located by security and all was well.
After an afternoon of rest and relaxation the group of 4 decided to have a steak dinner. This is when drama started that would continue for the next several months. The first drama occurred when Voldemort asked Kiley if she would loan him money so that they could all continue on the road trip and see the ocean. Kiley decided to loan him the money and they extracted this from the ATM off of her credit card. While at dinner Alyce said something to Voldemort that upset him much and he left the restaurant never to return.
The rest of the night was filled with drama. Voldemort was mad at Alyce and she was filled with anxiety over the entire situation. Shawn and Kiley tried to help the situation on both sides. This was something that was almost impossible to accomplish. Finally late into the night everyone was exhausted and went to sleep.
